Class & Covid - 19

Based on government guidelines, Swingbytes dance have made some changes to the classes so that we comply with the guidelines and can operate.

  • All attendees must adhere to the 2 metre rule whenever possible

  • Class size will also be greatly reduced and you will no longer be able to "drop-in"

  • For track & trace purposes pre-booking is a must.

  • When entering & exit the building masks must be worn

  • When entering the building please follow the one way system

  • For Couples class - your partner must live in the same household as you

  • For Couples class - single people who live alone can join a dance "bubble" with another partner who also lives alone and attend, you cannot change partners, if either are unable to attend class for a different partner.

  • To book the couples class you must book as a couple. Maximum 10 couples

  • If you wish to attend class, please hit the BOOK NOW button on the home page.  A strict cap on numbers is pre-set, so if you are unable to book, it means that class is full.

  • If the class is full please join waiting list and you will be notified if a place becomes available

Improvers solo content will hone in on the following core elements

  • Technique – have you ever tried to execute a move and you don’t seem to grasp it fully?  It will be down to your technique, posture and balance.  We can help with correcting bad habits and improving your technique.

  • Styling – this is for putting your own twist on a move

  • Fitness – Most of you won’t have danced since lock down began back in March, therefore we will be incorporating a shag work-out towards the end of class, practicing the content you have learnt – this will be a gentle work out over the term until hopefully you reach Sayer speed.

  • Musicality – we will try to give you skills so that you can dance to a tune confidently and feel in control.

  • Speed – We will give you the skills to cope so that when the DJ increases the tempo you won’t be heading for a seat.

  • Couples class will concentrate on all the above at a faster tempo
